Colourpop ultra matte lips in Silhouette, LAX, and Beeper
Everyone has been raving about Colourpop Cosmetics as they made their way into Instagram and all the it-girls were wearing them. They’ve collaborated with some amazing women like Karrueche and their products are actually good! One of the best things about this brand is that they’re also cruelty-free. It’s 2016 – I think all makeup brands should be going cruelty-free.
I’m a total fan of matte lipsticks because that’s just the vibe I go with so I ended up picking only their matte lipsticks. Of course I had to choose a nude color because that’s the best every day natural lip and I also chose a true red and a deep, vampy color.
Going in the order of the photo, let’s first talk about the color Silhouette. Well, there’s actually not much to talk about as I haven’t even touched this one yet. There hasn’t been an occasion for me that made me want to wear this so, sorry. Can’t really give a review on this one!
As for the color LAX (dark and vampy color), I loved the color of this one. It is super pigmented and is the exact shade of what I wanted in a dark, vampy lip. The bad thing? It becomes patchy the moment you eat something, especially when what you’re eating is oily. I had no idea this was going to happen so I had worn this out to go eat and it was a total mess. My lips looked patchy, and when I tried to wipe it off, it was such a struggle. The area around my lips started looking red and it was getting embarrassing. Since then, I’ve stopped wearing this color because I didn’t want to deal with the hassle again. I’ll only wear this again if I know I won’t be eating (haha).
Beeper is my favorite out of the three colors because it’s more of an every day lip color. You know, the my lips but better type shade. The color looks great on, though a little drying, but it’s much easier to handle than LAX. I can reapply without looking like a mess and I love the matte finish.
The colors are great and the price is great, too. The only con is how drying and patchy some of their lip colors are. I wish it wasn’t that way, but I’m happy to hear that they’ve come out with a satin lip line. Their satin lip line is supposed to be more moisturizing so I’m thinking of giving it a try. I still haven’t tried their lip liners yet, but I think I’ll love that a lot more than their matte lipsticks. I’ll definitely give you guys my review on it whenever I plan to order them!
